Futbol as Football Series: GSD Molinese

Futbol as Football Series: #GSDMolinese from  #2aCategoriaPiemonteGironeM in Italy.

This is a tip of the hat to the GSD Molinese who liked my U.S. Alessandria Calcio post on Instagram.

Their blue Errea kit is asymmetrical that is solid azul with one white sleeve. Their second kit is blue and white checkered and I decided to use this checkering as a base for my concept American Football kits.

I used a checkered pattern for my Boavista (Portugal) concepts and I found it is time to try it again on a kit.

I have gone back to my generic/Real World concepts having different feels. On my #Errea Football Americano "Real World" concept I have altered between the Yoke and the Bib where to place the checkers.

I used the squad's castle from their badge and incorporated it into a Roundel for their helmet/pant/neck emblem. It turned out to be a pretty cool Helmet Decal!

(Sorry if this is more rambling than usual - I have a headache and my concentration is whopperjawed right now)

Futbol as Football Series: S.S. Lazio

Futbol as Football Series: S.S. Lazio from Serie A.

THIS is one that I've wanted to do! Lazio's throwback Eagle jersey is one I thought would look fantastic as a Football uniform. I've adapted their 1980s throwback, their current second and made a third version. Lazio looked SOOOOO great as a script a la UCLA and I added a 4 stripe to their helmet to mimic their jersey eagle.

Futbol as Football Series: U.S. Alessandria Calcio

Futbol as Football Series: U.S. Alessandria Calcio from Lega Pro/A in Italy.

The Grays or the Bears

I was searching for teams whose main colors are gray or brown in which this club is one which I found.

Here is how obscure this squad is to folks outside of Italy.

I work at the front desk of a hotel and we have a great guest from Italy in which we can talk for hours together. We were talking about Futbol and I asked him (since he is from Northern Italy) if he knew about Alessandria Calcio in which he looked at me nearly stunned. "How do you know about them?"

I replied, "I'm a nerd". He said they're basically like a High School team or minor league baseball. I dig their current kits (2015) quite a bit. It is wonderfully old school. I incorporated the racing stripe from their chest to their shoulders a-la Texas A&M.

For the fonts I used Ariq for the name and numerals with Advent used for the chest word mark.
